Assuming you're not bothered about the boards, split them either side
of the nails with an expendable chisel and pry them off the nails.
Then deal with the nails left poking out of the wall, if necessary by
cutting back with an angle grinder or bending back and forth until they
break.

When I removed mine, I used a fridge magnet to pinpoint where the nails were
and marked them. I then used a chisel to cut away around each nail and once
the skirting was free, just tapped and bent the rusted cut nails until they
snapped.
It sounds rather laborious but didn't take too long & also saved
replastering afterwards.

When faced with a similar scenario I drilled around the nail until I'd
exposed enough of the head to grip it with some carpenters pincers. As
the force of levering it out was on the skirting itself the plaster
was completely untouched

Do have a 1/2" scarat cutter? if so take out the pilot center drill bit and
attach the scarat cutter in the drill and drill a hole over the outer area
of the nail and then all you have to do then is pull the 1/2" wooden circles
of with wide jaw pliers.

This is assuming you know where the nails are? ;-)
