Hi all, HNY

Just come across this, a hobbyist free effort that in a pinch might give
some adhoc newsgroup access?

The author is concerned that the Online Safety Act might make it
non-viable to provide the service.

I can't see the print white on very pale cyan.
I don't get any white text, mostly black on duck-egg blue, or black on
buttermilk, it would benefit from a choice of css themes

Try using the mouse to highlight the text.

Ok, /by popular demand/ I'm looking at adding some options in the
Preferences page to change the colours :-)

This is now done, I added a section at the end of the Preferences page where
you can select whatever colours you like for the text and the background.

Custom colours now work, I presume unrelated, but I can't access this
group now

I have reported an issue accessing uk.d-i-y with my newly registered user.
However I thing that my error message (after trying to post a debug
report) may have related to the debug report.

Cheers

Sorry about that, it's fixed now.

[Adding the colour choice stuff lead me to reorganise the storage of
user preferences, which then broke the group search which I had not
thought of re-testing.... :-( ]

It will be a while before I can test.

Hi, I run the Newsgrouper site. I don't set the text colour to white,
and no-one else has complained about that problem, so I think it must
be something specific to your browser - what are you using?

Opera
Interesting, I had a report from an Opera user a few days ago about
form field positions being screwy, which I fixed.

I've now updated the code to explicitly set the text colour to black,
I had been just relying on it defaulting to black. Please try again
and see if that fixes your problem.

Opera
All browsers and mail clients seem to allow so much choice in what color
to display if no color specified, what color to display if color IS
specified and so on..

This looks as though it could solve the issue of lack of a decent
Newsreader under Android.

Will give it a try.

Thanks for your efforts.

Cheers

Piaohong Usenet Newsreader which I am using is far from perfect,
but far more usable than Newsgrouper IMHO.

Hi, if you can point to any areas where Newsgrouper's useability
could be improved, I would be interested to hear about them.

Yes, it's my site. Some people running small sites are treating the OSA
as the end of the world, others think the panic is overblown. I'm hoping
some useful guidance for small sites will appear soon.

Yes the text is white on black now, because I am running Opera in 'Dark
Mode'

Thank you.
