You would never know that there was an energy crisis under way.
according to the interview on the BBC PM programme (today, 16 Sep 2021,
at approx 17h35, available on BBC Sounds).

I simply can't recall the claims made, but they include such things as
there will be wind farms the size of Yorkshire in the North Sea; London
is currently powered by wind farms and some interconnectors, nuclear
will disappear, an electric vehicle fleet could be powered (recharged)
right now; go out and buy an electric car now now now; and so the claims
go on. You'd never know that wholesale electricity spot prices reached
£3.50 a unit due to the fact that there's been no wind for some time,
and there's not a lot of gas about.

Have your bucket ready if you listen to the programme....

And when it all goes tits up, the reason is of course that we haven’t
invested ENOUGH in renewable energy!

community, compassion, investment, security, housing...."
"What kind of person is not interested in those things?"

"Jeremy Corbyn?"

Where do these people get their experts from. Do they live in the same world
as we do?
I notice that the damage to the power line we talked about a few days ago
due to a fire, finally made it to bbc radio news last night.
More research needed in ways to generate and story power during violent
weather events needs to be done, Surely we are missing a lot of power we
could harvest?

I have listened to similar interviews about green energy and the sad
fact is that often the interviewer doesn't seem to have enough
background education to even challenge some of the wilder claims.

Spot on.

No quibbles about the wind not blowing or questions about grid stability
to spoil the party, thank you.

The utter tragedy of the destruction of state education by Blair, to
downplay STEM , English, Maths in favour of 'emotional intelligence'
and 'feelings', has led to a public that responds 100% to what it is
happy to believe in, not what is in fact real.

Police will arrest you for saying 'nigger' but not for assault.

emotional 'hurt' is now more important than physical demonstrable hurt.

No one these days has the intellectual tools to actually assess whether
or not any given 'fact' is real or invented. So all that matters is what
'97% believe' and what sounds plausible.

So ClimateChange™ is completely fact free: It is not science, it is 100%
marketing.

The sort of people who listen to the BBC frighten me. They think they
are more intelligent than the working classes, and so in a sense they
are, so they think that what they *think* they think, needs to be
imposed on the working classes, because they 'know better' . They are
against democracy for the same reason. Plebs, they feel, are too easily
swayed by populist arguments. The fact that they are in fact far more
liable to be subject to this, escapes them completely.

They are 100% dominated by whatever sources they use to inform
themselves. They take all their opinions oven ready from whoever are
represented to them as 'experts' Not one of them has ever had an
original thought in their lives.

They revere academics, no matter how idiotic they are. They deride
practical experience, love being told what to do by bureaucrats, and
believe nearly everything they read. Especially if its well written, and
in the guardian.

They love the EU.

They reject God, but replace it with a strange sort of sectarian
morality. Social justice and Gaia worship is their religion. They
consider themselves rational beings, but social justice and Gaia worship
are not rational.

They revere Marx, and hate racism, yet Marx was a full blown racist.

They are, as IIRC Lenin, said 'the useful idiots' - political pawns to
be manipulated, mobilised and discarded and sent to the gulags or shot
once they ceased to be useful.

Its a shame we have to wait that long
